    GIRO D'ITALIA 2020

It’s probably our favourite World Tour and this year, we were lucky enough to be greeted with the Tour coming to town. Stage 19 started from our local town of Morbegno. 258km in the pouring rain, or that’s what was supposed to happen. Racers rolled out from Morbegno in soggy settings but shortly after, the race was neutralised as riders protested and demanded the stage to be shortened. We don’t blame them. The race organisers agreed and the riders boarded the buses and the convoy skipped 117km. In every World Tour, you can always guarantee surprises in one form or another, and this year’s Giro was not short of them.

A ciclamino jersey day for Diego on Stage 3.

    Brandon McNulty:

“It was a good day out. There was never really an easy moment in the race. It was nice to take the bunch sprint to get another top-10 result.”

We were surprised that the weather didn’t make the course re-route for the Stelvio stage but the racers graced the monumental mountain and made the icy descent look somehow manageable. The second Grand Tour of the season is finished but thankfully, you can still indulge your cycling needs with the Vuelta.
