A SLICE OF ORANGE
It may be deep in each mountain bikers’ soul, something that resonates with them when the mountains turn to orange and gold. It’s a promise made of loamy dirt and epic sceneries. Once a year, we are on a hunt. We know this moment is fleeting. And we want a slice of it.

The excitement has calmed and now more than ever we want to clean the trails with the rush of the bike, as though our back wheel could clear the leaves for good.
We take the same risks, but we are braver. Deep into the forest where everything is quiet the noise from the hub breaks the sound barrier. Everything is amplified, including skids through the leaves.
At altitude where winter has already made a breakthrough, the crisp air and the white ground remind us that we are merely visitors on two wheels.
Maybe it’s time to stop and enjoy the harmony. That’s how postcards and good rides are made.
But we won’t stop for long because one more turn and autumn will be gone.
