Bringing creativity to the trails with Maxime Rambaud and Benoit Gurnel
RIDING THE SMOKE
There are some ideas that grow inside of you to become reality. Maxime Rambaud had this in his mind for some time and when he asked us to be involved in a smokey shooting, we said a big yes.
The concept was simple; take a rider, pick a trail, add some smoke, and use a careful eye behind the lens. Making it happen however is another story. Ideas are judged on the result!
Here’s the photo story of this one-of-a-kind shoot! We hope you will like it as much as we do.

You don’t need to ask Benoit Gurnel twice to fly over the trails.
The French Freerider is always available for new ideas. And boy, does he have some style!
The smoke created the perfect carpet, covering the trail and giving a unique atmosphere.
Mystique and darkness meet where the trees are sculptures and the moves make statements.
In the end it’s like riding on clouds and you forget the trivial aspect of it: a smoke machine and some generators.
It was quite tricky for Benoit to ride in these conditions with the ground completely covered.
But he was still destroying berms, because dirt is real!
