Discover the new Trenta 3K Carbon

    A change in the air

Racing doesn’t wait. Every year the speed rises, gaps tighten, and the margin for error shrinks. The new Trenta 3K Carbon arrives at exactly the right moment, made for an era where racing demands more — more speed, more control, more protection.

    What to know?

_Ventilation: Increased by 16% thanks to a reworked internal geometry and optimized air channeling, engineered within MET’s proprietary wind tunnel.

_Protection: Safety performance improved by 40% in both linear and rotational impact tests — earning a 5-star Virginia Tech rating.

_Development: Created in close collaboration with Tadej Pogačar, UAE Team Emirates XRG, and UAE Team ADQ.

It’s already taken wins at the UCI Road World Championships, the 2025 Tour de France and Giro d’Italia Women, chosen by riders who know that safety and performance are the same thing.

Since its debut in 2017, the Trenta 3K Carbon has been refined through thousands of test hours, race days, and, yes, real crashes. The goal was never incremental change. It was to push airflow and impact protection to a new level while keeping the helmet intuitive for riders at full effort.

The results are measurable: airflow up 16%, independent safety scores up 40% – among the highest ever recorded under Virginia Tech’s protocol. The Trenta still feels minimal, but its structure now reacts better when speeds are high and crashes come hard.

The deeper rear profile is the most visible update, an evolution based on data from hundreds of crash returns across WorldTour seasons. That insight, combined with our internal test lab, allows rapid cycles of real-world feedback and lab refinement. Protection, in other words, isn’t theoretical.

Inside, the ultra-light Mips Air Node system adds another layer of rotational impact management without adding bulk.

“Our focus is always on increasing rider safety. With road crashes becoming increasingly severe, we had to lower the risk of serious impacts, while improving what has already been a highly ventilated and ultra-lightweight helmet. We achieved that – and then reshaped the fit for universal comfort. Using dual-density EPS adds strength where it matters most.”

    – Head Developer, MET Trenta 3K Carbon

    Safety is science

At MET, we see safety as more than a requirement – it’s part of performance and a science that we can measure. Top riders now treat head protection the way they do aerodynamics or weight, a mindset long established in downhill and enduro racing. Safety is essential, measurable, and non-negotiable.

Head trauma remains one of the most common injuries in road racing, second only to collarbone fractures. Average recovery time? Nearly two months. Every year, our WorldTour partners send back 20–30 crashed helmets for analysis, showing clear signs of high-energy impact. Each one teaches us something new and informs the next iteration of Trenta.

    Ventilation is performance

At its core is the 3K Airframe: a carbon wing structure that removes EPS from the internal frame with open air channels. Air moves freely from the front intakes to the rear exhausts – you can almost see straight through it. It’s a quiet piece of engineering that keeps the head cool whether climbing at 12km/h or descending at 90.

"The human body only converts about 20-25% of our energy into movement. The rest of the energy used creates heat. When the core temperature rises, the body spends effort in cooling itself instead of turning the pedals. Sixteen percent more ventilation is an abstract concept that’s hard to grasp but when race conditions are hot, the riders can feel this difference clearly. Better ventilation means more blood flow directed to the legs and more efficient metabolism – that means more speed! And speed is what we need."
    – Jeroen Swart, Head of Performance at UAE Team Emirates XRG

Cooling isn’t about comfort; it’s about control. A helmet that manages temperature gives back energy to the rider. For long, hot stages and mountain days, that matters.

“I first used it at the Giro d’Italia Women and immediately felt the difference. It’s aero but at the same time the airflow is so good that heat just hasn’t been an issue at all this summer.”

    – Elisa Longo Borghini, UAE Team ADQ

Since its first release, the Trenta has been a fixture in road racing, worn by riders who define eras. This new version keeps that DNA but sharpens every detail.

The air has changed. So has the standard.
